NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand is a small country with a big heart. With a unique history and vibrant culture, there's so much to do – much of it outdoors in their famously beautiful natural scenery.
![]() Maori Rock CarvingsThe Maori Rock Carvings are located in Mine Bay on Lake Taupo and stand an impressive 14 meters high. While the carvings look like they have been in place for centuries they were in fact carved in the 70s by Matahi Whakataka-Brightwell. As fascinating as these carvings are, they are only accessibly by boat. By boating to the high bluffs, you can bob in front of the magnificent stone-faced god carved into the cliffside. | ![]() Waikoropupu SpringsJust a short distance from the Takaka township is Waikoropupu Springs. Although you can't swim in the springs, or even so much as glide your fingers across the surface, it is easy to appreciate its allure - especially since it contains some of the clearest water ever measured! A vibrant community of eels & native fish can be seen darting around underneath the bubbling surface. These senses are awakened with the sweet sound of birds emerging from the depths of the Manuka & Kanuka forest! | ![]() Hobbiton Movie SetYou don't have to be a Lord of the Rings fan to enjoy a visit to the Hobbiton Movie Set! First opened in 2002, Hobbiton is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in New Zealand, drawing in more than 350,000 visitors a year. But if you ARE a fan, add this to your MUST visit list. And always remember, "Home is behind, the world ahead, and there are many paths to tread through shadows to the edge of night." |

![]() Fiordland National ParkA World Heritage Site, Fiordland National Park protects some of the most spectacular scenery in the country. Glaciers sculpted this dramatic landscape carving the famous fjords of Milford, Dusky, and Doubtful Sounds. Visitors here can explore gushing cascades, offshore islands, virgin rainforests, and much more! With some of the country's best walks, the park is also a haven for hikers. It doesn't hurt to take a walk around the park, so make sure you stop and smell the roses in NZ. | ![]() Purakaunui FallsThe Catlins region is home for incredible waterfalls and a paradise for photographers. The stunning Purakaunui Falls is the most photographed New Zealand waterfall and is located in the heart of the Catlins Forest Park. An easy walk to the waterfall's lookout and unique beauty make this falls one of the best places to visit with your family, and it’s included into New Zealand's Must See Waterfalls list. | ![]() Kea BirdNative to the South Island of New Zealand, Keas, like this, have stunning, fluffed up green feathers. It doesn't take much to find out how curious & playful they are. If you're ever around one, take out your phone and see how much they love posing for the camera. Quick Facts! Keas are sometimes referred to as the 'clown of the mountain' due to their cheeky personality. They hide a vibrant orange color under its wings. To this day, it holds the title of the World's Only Alpine Parrot. |
