ICELAND
Iceland is home to the largest glaciers in Europe, as well as some of the world's most active volcanoes.
It is widely known as "The Land of Fire and Ice". But Iceland escapes definition. It is also the land of light and darkness.
![]() Vatnajökull GlacierVatnajökull, sometimes translated as Vatna Glacier in English, is the largest and most voluminous ice cap in Iceland. After Novaya Zemlya's Severny Island, Vatnajökull is the largest in area in Europe, covering about 8% of Iceland's landmass. This cave is nothing but surreal and mystic! If you want to visit an otherworldly place on earth, THIS is the place to be. | ![]() Northern LightsIceland is one of the best places in the world to see the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. Between hot spring swims and glacier hikes, your chances are extremely high that you'll see Northern Lights on your trip to Iceland. HOWEVER! If you're traveling to Iceland in the winter, try your best NOT to plan a Northern Lights hunt during a Full Moon. It can and WILL drown out the show. Instead, arrive about five days New Moon and you'll have a week dark enough to enjoy this phenomenon. | ![]() Studlagil CanyonFor centuries, the river Jokla, which is 150 kilometers long, was one of the largest and most powerful glacial rivers in Iceland. It was so strong that it divided the valley into two separate parts and didn't have much communication for centuries. This river was, both, dangerous and difficult to cross, but has become a beautiful hidden gem in East Iceland. |

If you didn't go to the Blue Lagoon when in Iceland... did you really even go? | ![]() Lamb Rump SteakNeed a place to eat while you're in Iceland? Look no further! Located in West Iceland, Apotek Kitchen Bar carries the most delicious and succulent foods. I mean... look at how JUICY this lamb is! Served with carrot puree, cauliflowers, spring onion and black garlic sauce, it's no wonder why this is a favorite dish for many traveling in Ireland! | ![]() The PuffinIceland is, without a doubt, the Puffin watching capital of the world. Bird watchers and scientists from all over the world visit JUST to see this interesting species for themselves. Thanks to the incredibly cute and funny appearance of these birds, Puffin watching has become one of the top favorite summer activities for anyone in Iceland.
